Busy Week and Exciting News
Another week has gone by. I say it so many times, jokingly, but sometimes I truly feel like the hardest working man in paranormal. We had an exciting week as always. The Selma Times ran an article on our investigation at the Vaughn Smitherman Museum. It was actually picked up on the wire of the Montgomery Advertiser, a newspaper in Birmingham and in Tuscaloosa. The reporter who wrote the story, Caleb, did a great job. I sincerely appreciate him writing the story on us. Caleb actually joined us on an investigation this past Saturday night and Kenan Mill in Selma. Our Thursday night radio show was a blast and we appreciate Babs joining us for the show. One thing I am really proud of about my team is that we attended a murder/mystery fundraiser event on Friday night in Selma at the beautiful Sturdivant Hall. I have actually always wanted to go to one of these events ever since I saw one portrayed on an episode of the “Jefferson’s”. While it was a fundraiser to benefit an art project, we had over 14 members, friends and family of SPR from Cullman, Marbury, Prattville, Millbrook, Tallassee, Greenville and Montgomery to attend this event. I was so proud of my group and the fact they want to give back as much as I do and make a difference. We also had a great time.
Cindy, Robert and Charles work so very hard for the Selma Historical Society and the Historical Society is blessed to have their commitment to making a difference. I had the pleasure of meeting Selma’s local ghost hunters and we had a very brief and pleasant conversation with them. The gentleman brought up courtesy among paranormal groups when investigating in certain territories. I highly disagree. There is no such thing as territories. The only courtesy you should owe any paranormal team is to be professional, credible, courteous and respectful. If you don’t, it will discredit other paranormal teams from miles around. I am firm believer in paranormal unity, everyone getting along, and working together in this wonderful field of paranormal research. At the same time, I do respectfully and honestly believe there should be a line drawn between hobbyist and true paranormal researchers wanting to make a difference in this field of research, wanting to help families in need, and wanting to give back to their community and historical societies throughout this great United States of America. I always tell my members to be courteous and respectfully of others, to work together, and if you don’t have anything good to say, don’t say it.
I hope to make an announcement in the near future regarding some events that are in the making at this time. These events will all be for a good cause. Also, I am excited because starting this Tuesday night I will be a part of a new blog talk show hosted by Babs, Susie and myself. It will be “Through the Veil Show”. We will have a variety of guests, who will be attending Through the Veil event in June, 2009. You can link the show just as you do when you join us for our regular Thursday night show. www.blogtalkradio.com/spit
Jake and I have been working very hard on two book projects which I have been encouraged to pursue. At this time, we are ahead of schedule. Thank you to everyone for your friendship and support. I also want to thank everyone for taking time out of their busy day to read by blog. My team and I will continue to strive to be the best we can be as people and as investigators and we will make a difference in this field which I love so dearly. Check out the shows Tuesday and Thursday nights and check out the list of events that have already been scheduled. Have a great and blessed week!
