Great Weekend and Busy week ahead

Posted by Shawn Sellers on Monday, February 9, 2009

Well, I am a little late on my weekly blog but not too badly.  Last week was, as usual, a busy week with a few ups and downs. This past Tuesday night we kicked off Through the Vail Radio show that I co-hosted with Babs and Susan Rushing and our guest Ericka. This is a show that we will be doing every Tuesday night through June. To be honest, I was a little nervous because I never really co-hosted a show.  I am used to hosting and I did not know how I would do by not being in the driver’s seat. I was afraid I would either say too much or not enough. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the show went. I know the more we work together the better the show will be. It is really a great learning experience to work with Babs and Susan.  Our guest this week will be Chris Moon of Haunted Times Magazine.  Chris is getting ready to debut a show on True TV this Friday night.

Last week Jake and I had a lunch meeting with a young pastor by the name of Jamie. We had a discussion on religion and the spirit world.  He shared his story with us and I shared my story with him.  Jamie gave Jake and I a wonderful compliment, he said he felt that this was our ministry and our calling. It really made me feel good and it reinforced to me the responsibility I have taken on in this field of research and helping people.

Our Thursday night show went very well.   Babs joined us and we discussed a wide variety of topics. We had a lot of people disappointed that Blog Talk Chat was down so hopefully it will be back up and running this week and we might have a guest so please be on the look out on for our bulletins this week and thanks to every one who listens to the show and helps repost our bulletins.

We have been having a segment on our show these past two weeks about the economy and about how it is affecting American families. Well, a friend of mine and SPR’s  lost his job at a local radio station, I just want to let him know that we love him and appreciate every thing he has done for SPR and for the paranormal community and that he and his family are in our prayers and thoughts.

This past Saturday night, The SPR team investigated the historic Baker house in Selma, Alabama.  It is a beautiful old home and we appreciate the opportunity from the Selma Historical society and the Brooks who currently own and reside in the house.

I want to apologize to my team for missing a practice meeting which my team had Sunday night. I want to personally thank Shelly for taking hold of the paranormal 101 presentation and getting organized and ready to go for some of the upcoming events.

So all in all I had a good weekend.   I enjoyed spending time with my sons. I worked on the book projects and every thing is moving along at a steady pace. We have a busy week a head with Radio shows Tuesday night 8-9 and Thursday night 8-10 and we are off to Mississippi on Friday so I will probably be late with next week’s blog but look for it around Tuesday or Wednesday.
